Happy Birthday Altrilast13

The City of Magnolia, I've been calling it my home for quite a while now, ever since I joined the Fairy Tail guild here. It was sometime in the afternoon and I was walking back home.

"Wendy, you don't want to do anything today?"  A concerned voice said behind me. "If we tell Natsu and the others, they'd probably throw you a big party."

I turned around to see Carla, she was flying behind me in a cute pink dress matching her white fur. Her face showed no concern but her tone of voice gave her away.

"It's okay Carla," I smiled back to her though I knew it wouldn't fool her, "There's nothing to do anyway."

"But Wendy, today's your..." her voice trailed off.

I suddenly stopped walking which caused her to stop talking.

"Carla, I..um..I want to be alone for now." I told her with another fake smile, "If you need me, I'll just be in my room."

I left her there as she flew off without another word. I really didn't want to say that to Carla but I just felt so sad today. I didn't want to talk to anyone.

I opened the door and sat on my bed, thoughts kept racing in my head. One memory kept recalling itself then I stopped to ponder about it.

"Wendy, Come here child." An old voice called out to me,

"What is it Guildmaster?" I remembered myself in the memory, it was a few years ago, in the Cait Shelter.

"Someone has brought you a present." The Guildmaster spoke and he pointed to a bouquet of white flowers.  It was arranged simply yet it was beautiful. I ran up to it and held it in my hands. It was light and the sweet aroma of the white flowers greeted my nose.

"Who left it here?" I asked in childlike glee

"A young boy with blue hair left it here." The guildmaster replied, "Enjoy your birthday, Wendy."

He smiled then started walking back as he had other business to attend to.

I stood there with a child's smile on my face as I held the bouquet tightly.

"I knew you wouldn't forget, Jellal."

And every year after that, I would always find a bouquet of white irises waiting for me.
Tears began to stream down my eyes; ever since we left Edoras, I've felt so sad because I was never going to see him again. I'm being so selfish I thought to myself. He's probably leading his homeland to prosperity now but still, I want to...

"Oh, what's this?" a gentle voice said, "You shouldn't be crying on your birthday."
I looked up and there he was, sitting next to me; a man with blue hair and a red tattoo on his face, wearing a simple cloak and garments. He extended his hand and wiped a tear from my cheek

"H..how?" I stammered almost in complete shock.

"I can't stay long but I wanted to see you on your special day." He smiled warmly as he showed me his other hand, in his hand, a bouquet of white irises were neatly arranged. "I grew these flowers myself, in Edoras, there's an entire field of them now."

"Th...um..thank you." I meekly replied

"Just remember Wendy, times like these are not meant to be spent being sad." He said, "Now, I have one more present for you, close your eyes."

I followed his instruction and closed my eyes. Then, I felt his lips touch my forehead, my face went beet red.

"Farewell." He whispered, "Happy Birthday."

Then I opened my eyes. He wasn't there anymore, but I didn't feel sad anymore. Seeing him was enough for me. I stood up with a smile on my face and looked out the window.

"Heeeeeeeey Wendy!" A familiar voice called out. Through the window, I saw Natsu shouting at the top of his lungs. "Come down here!"

With him was Gray and Happy. I was surprised that they were all here.

"Carla told us everything," Gray shouted, "Come back with us to the guild, everyone's waiting for you."

"Yeah!" Happy agreed, "We'll throw you a party you won't forget!"

I smiled back at them and made my way towards them.  When I arrived, I was greeted by Carla.

"Silly girl," she said coldly but hinted me with a smile, "You feeling better now?"

"Uh-hm" I replied cheerfully, "Thanks so much Carla and to everyone too."

"Well come on, Wendy" Natsu said excitedly, "You can't keep everyone waiting, especially when you're the guest of honor! I bet Mirajane cooked up a feast!"

"Idiot! It's her birthday, don't act like you're the important one here." Gray scolded

"Whatever!" Natsu shouted back as he dashed off towards the direction of the guild.

We then ran after him and for sure, this really will be a day I will never forget.
